TOP 5 Marketing and PR Strategy Tips
Over the years, we’ve written a lot of marketing and public relations strategies, filled with creative and customized tactics for getting our clients’ messages to the marketplace.
Here are five things to keep in mind when writing a strategy:
1. Clearly define your target market and key messages.
Who and where are your potential customers and how do they want you to communicate with them? Speak to them with consistent messaging throughout your marketing, write it down, share it with your staff and write and speak it consistently.
2. Include strategies for marketing to your existing customers.
If your customers like working with you, chances are they will welcome the opportunity to do more of it, so keep your products and services in front of them.
3. Create a multi-platform strategy.
Make sure you’re reaching customers through print and online communications and include seasonal campaigns, community relations, traditional media and social media.
4. Attach a budget to each task.
If you know what it will cost to implement each task, your plan will be attainable.
5. Create a timeline for implementation.
Chart a month-to-month course and be realistic about what you will be able to accomplish on a weekly/monthly basis. Document your slow times of the year and ramp up marketing prior to those times.
