Giving Back and Receiving More
On October 8th, The Greater Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce honored CEL’s CEO, Cindy Leines, as their 2015 Person of the Year. This award is presented annually to a Chamber member who has gone above and beyond to serve the Wayzata community. Considerations include active participation and support of Chamber activities and long standing contributions to the economic, civic, commercial and educational interests of the Greater Wayzata area.
Community giving is deeply rooted in Cindy who was raised on a family farm by parents who held community service in the highest regard. And, it’s apparent in our firm’s “passionate commitment to the betterment of business, family and the community.” But, the beautiful thing about giving, is you get so much more in return.
Cindy was humbled by the large attendance at the Person of the Year luncheon and overwhelmed by the tributes paid to her that day. But even more profound, was the on-going commitment to community service that was represented in the room. The Wayzata Country Club was filled with the people who have worked in the trenches with Cindy for the past 27 years; her colleagues, co-chairs, fellow committee members, and champions of Wayzata business, schools, and service organizations. These are the people who work together to build community and make life better for those who live and work there.
The moral of this story is that when you give, so much more comes back to you.
