Do You Have a Social Media Strategy?
Rather than just setting up social media accounts at all of your favorite social media sites or building brand pages that do not engage your audience, it is imperative that you move into the social media space with a strategy.
Do you know what you want to get out of social media for your business? Do you have any clear-cut goals or objectives? If not, you may want to re-think your social media activity to ensure you are set up for success.
So what is a social media strategy? In a word, it’s the big picture. It’s defining what you want your social media engagement to do for your business.
Do you want to attract more people to your website so you can raise awareness for your products? Are you trying to increase your e-mail subscriber numbers? Or maybe you are selling directly from your social media outposts? You need to outline these objectives because you can’t know if you are succeeding if you don’t know what you are measuring.
Before you kick off your social media campaign, work out your strategy and set some goals. Then measure your progress on a regular basis to see if you are reaching them, and adjust your strategy as needed along the way based upon your learnings as you go forward.
