App of the Week: HootSuite

You may have heard of this week’s App of the Week. It’s a very popular social media organizer for both businesses and individuals. HootSuite allows you to manage all of your social networks in one place. Whether it is your Facebook profile, a Facebook page you manage, a Twitter account, a LinkedIn or any of the many others, HootSuite gives you the chance to manage all of them from one dashboard.

There are many aspects to HootSuite, so we will just cover the basics. Here are four of the ways HootSuite may be able to help you.

1. Scheduling posts. HootSuite allows you to schedule posts for anytime to any of your networks. You can schedule a post to your Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn to share an interesting article over the weekend, or you can schedule posts for the times you receive the most traffic so you don’t forget when the time comes.
   
2. Post from multiple accounts. Do you have a message you want sent across all of your accounts? You can do that with HootSuite. Post a status, link or picture to your Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn page all at once.
3. Customizable. One of the best features of HootSuite is that you get to choose what you want to see from each of your streams. With Twitter for example, if all you want to see from your personal Twitter is your home feed and retweets, you can do that. But maybe with your business Twitter account you want to see the home feed, mentions, retweets and what tweets you’ve sent. You can do that, too.
4. Apps. You can have apps like YouTube, Reddit, Instagram and Tumblr added for free. HootSuite also offers many other apps for various prices that you can add to your dashboard.

There are different pricing plans for HootSuite. The free version allows up to 5 different social networks, analytics, message scheduling, etc. Pro accounts start at $8.99/month and allow new features such as more networks, adding team members, security and enhanced technical support.
