Anoka-Hennepin Schools

One of Minnesota’s largest school districts, the Anoka-Hennepin School District serves 38,000 students and 248,000 residents in 13 suburban communities north of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The district had previously updated its web presence in 2014, and in 2020 it partnered with CEL to upgrade all of its web properties to prioritize key content, improve the mobile experience and deliver consistent experiences for all visitors, conforming with level Double-A of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0.

Working in Blackboard, the CEL team used the new Bb Page Builder app to create a district-wide template that could be customized as needed. In total, Anoka-Hennepin School District relaunched 47 websites—all going live the same day. Working in partnership with the Blackboard custom team and CEL’s school website team, the district and schools switched over to the newly designed template while all the sites remained live to the public. The project also included rewrites of district content for a new navigation structure and a staff intranet.
