Users Helping Users

Are you having certain problems with a product and can’t figure it out? Or are you trying to find answers in a program’s Help feature without any luck? Here’s a tip that might simplify your problems and answer some of your questions: try asking your question or describing your problem in a search engine online, such as Google or Bing. Search the results for others who have posted similar problems/questions on various sites and have found solutions or tips.

Looking for help online?

For example, let’s say you’re having trouble formatting a Word document. Go to a search engine and type something like “how to format a Word document” and see what results come up. The more specific you are with keywords, the more likely you will be to find answers.

Forums are an excellent way to find answers and tips from other users as well. But remember to take caution and do not follow instructions from an untrusted source or site. If something doesn’t sound right, try to verify the information with a trusted source before proceeding.

Once you find your answer, consider posting your own tips on a forum to help out someone else!
