3 Ways to Better Connect With Your Social Media Audience
Connecting and engaging with your audience is key to success in your social media strategy. It has become much easier for users to stop following or getting updates in their news feeds once they are no longer interested. That is why connecting with your customers on social media is so important.
Here are three things that your company can do on social media in order to stay on your audience’s radar.
-
- Putting a face, or faces, with the name. Don’t be afraid to show your audience behind the scenes of what you do. People respond to images or videos of people, kids, animals or even a short video of someone working behind the scenes. Not only is it more engaging than a text post, but it is also more likely to increase your social media reach. So show a birthday within the business, maybe an employee’s new member of the family (child or pet), or even a company outing.
- Make a connection during holidays or special events. It can be a simple “Happy Thanksgiving! What are you thankful for?” or a graphic you have created to share with your followers. An important thing to keep in mind is to make sure you are not trying to sell or promote on holidays or events. Keep an outsider’s perspective in mind and evaluate before you post to prevent offending any of your followers.
- Know your audience. You should know who your target audience is online. On top of knowing their demographics, know what kind of things they like and don’t like. What are their hobbies? What problems do they face in their everyday lives and how can you help them? Use your expertise to target the needs of your target audience.
