30 Years 30 Heroes: Deborah Dolan

Deborah Dolan, M.A. is the calm in the storm of the frustrating hurdles and challenges that often accompany eldercare. Adult children and family caregivers need guidance with navigating through the maze of Medicare, Medicaid, hospital stays, transitional care, assisted living and nursing care. Deborah Dolan is that guide, bringing a depth of experience, an intuitive mind and a helping hand to many.

The CEL staff met Deborah in 2007, when she came to us to design her marketing materials for her business, Senior Life Transitions, LLC, a company committed to helping aging seniors and their adult children navigate through health care organizations and eldercare service systems to find the resources they needed. We began with designing letterhead, business cards and a brochure and went on to build her website, create a blog and produce a podcast, featuring Deborah and Twin Cities broadcast news veteran, Kevyn Burger.

As a gerontologist and geriatric care manager, Deborah Dolan provided exceptional service and around the clock support to her clients. She brought them calm in the storm and peace of mind in knowing that they had done everything possible to manage the care of their loved one effectively, while maintaining their dignity.

Deborah has retired from her business but continues to provide support to friends and family members in need of navigation. Those of us who have access to her steadfast knowledge and advocacy for our loved ones are also blessed with her fervent guidance and support.
